Congratulations on making this exciting transition from elementary school to middle school!  As the new year begins, I know you may be nervous to trek on this journey into the middle school world, but let me assure you it is going to be fun. I am excited to work with each and every one of you!  Middle school has many benefits; however, it also means you have to be more responsible and hardworking!  This is the time in your life where you must take control... You can do great things, and you will do great things!

       Welcome JAGS! :)

In Math we will be learning many concepts including expressions and equations, the number system, ratios and proportions, geometry, and statistics!  Math can be quite challenging for most students, especially with all of the new concepts I will introduce to you.  As long as you work hard, ask questions, complete homework, and try your absolute best 100% of the time... you WILL succeed!

In English Language Arts we will be learning a variety of concepts!  Personally, I love to read so I want to instill a joy of reading in each and every one of you!  We will work with novels, informational text, and much more to master the standards that you must learn!  We will be gaining information that will be useful in your every day life.  Just think.... If I could not read, I would not be able to lead a successful life.  I want to make sure each and every one of you leads a triumphant life!

I am Ms. Evans and I am so excited to be teaching you this year!  If you want to learn a little more about me you came to the right place!  I have a loving family with a variety of pets.  In my household, I have 2 dogs, 3 cats, a turtle, and a bearded dragon!  You will get to interact with my bearded dragon as long as you are very responsible and have my permission!  I love watching movies, going on hikes, listening to music (country is my all time favorite), reading, shopping, and teaching! At a young age I knew I wanted to pursue a career in teaching!  After I completed high school, I attended the local community college and transferred to Greensboro College to obtain my bachelors degree in Elementary Education. I was lucky enough to be offered a 6th grade position at RCMS.  This time in your life is such an important period because this is the stage in your life where you start developing who you want to be.  I remember when I was in 6th grade and yes, it can be scary... but it is also one of the greatest years of your life!  I want to help each and every one of you become successful!

What will we be learning?
